Agoda is an internet company which provides online hotel reservations services for properties focused primarily in the Asia Pacific Region, with operations based in Bangkok, Singapore and the Philippines.
History
The company was created by founder Michael Kenny in the late 1990’s under the name PlanetHoliday.com. The initial concept was to use the burgeoning power of search engines to fill a perceived void of hotel and travel information. PlanetHoliday was one of the first hotel reservation websites in an industry which has subsequently grown into a multi-billion dollar business.

Kenny, originally from Long Island, New York, migrated to Thailand in the early 90’s and set up the website with a small operation on the island of Phuket. The website (and industry as a whole) has survived various unforeseen catastrophic events, including the “dot com” meltdown of 2000-2001, as well as the New York terrorist attacks of 9/11 and the SARS outbreak in 2003, both of which devastated the travel industry.
In 2002, operations moved from Phuket to Bangkok and in 2003 PrecisionReservations.com was added as a partner website designed to sell reservations through affiliate websites. Later in 2003 PlanetHoliday.com and PrecisionReservations.com were combined under Agoda Company Pte. Ltd.

Acquisition
In November 2007 Agoda Company was acquired by Priceline.com (NASDAQ: PCLN) becoming their third international acquisition. It now has approximately 300 employees and offers users search availability services in 21 languages including Chinese, English, French, Spanish, Japanese and Thai, among others.

Vosso cliente durante vários anos, porém o deixei de o ser devido ao tratamento que me foi dado, no Ambassador City Hotel, Pattaya no ano findo. Tendo, através dos vossos serviços pago por dois quatros Superior Deluxe, eles não existiam na altura em que fiz o Chek in. No entando na recepção do hotel estava lá um envelope, com as cheves dos quartos, em que dizia UP Grade, porém os quartos que me apresentaram eram de qualidade bem inferior e bem pequenos, nada do que tinha pago, quis mudar de hotel, em virtude de não haver os quartos que pretendia e por o hotel se encontrar em reparações pairando no ar um forte cheiro a acetona, e vós o não permitiram.
O pessoal do hotel levou mais de duas horas para solucionar o problema tendo depois me entregue as chaves de dois quatros, de categoria inferior.
Tendo a vossa companhia tido conhecimento do sucedido, atrav+es da minha pessoa e da funcionária do hotel, ficou assente que, os vossos serviços me reembolariam da diferença do preços dos quartos, diferença essa que me depositada na minha conta bancária volvidos que foram 20 dias. Fiquei aborrecido com a situação que jamais se repetirá. Happy New Year.

Como se pode deduzir, compras feitas a através da internet por vezes, mesmo através de companhia reputadas, dá nisto, o mal não foi da Agoda, mas sim do hotel, porém e devido ao acontecido na altura, a Agoda, bem podia ter providenciado outro hotel, mas enfim, ficou a experiência.
